I recently had the pleasure of directing my second music video for the talented Nashville band, Shakira Chinchilla. Working closely with the band members and Julia, the main actress of the video, we planned out every detail over the course of a few weeks. I then went on to create a script for the shoot.
On the first day of filming, we shot the majority of the scenes. It was my first time filming scenes out of order, but my script and outline helped me stay on track and ensure continuity in the video. I directed and filmed all of the footage.
As with all shoots, there were some surprises on set. We had to work with what we had, but we made it work. The final 30 seconds of footage were captured on day 2 of filming, in the beautiful Printers Alley in downtown Nashville at night.
It took about a month to edit the footage, but the end result was worth the wait. The band and I are thrilled with how the video turned out, and we're excited to share it with the world as part of Shakira Chinchilla's first EP project.
